How it started

Licono was founded on one simple idea: software should be affordable for everyone.
During our work and studies, we constantly ran into the problem that essential programs like AutoCAD, Photoshop, or Microsoft Office were simply too expensive for many people. Subscriptions kept piling up, prices reached hundreds of euros per year, and support was often minimal. We believed there had to be a better way — and that’s how Licono was born.

Our mission is clear: everyone — students, freelancers, small business owners, and large companies alike — deserves access to high-quality software licenses at a fair price.

But how?

Many people don't know this, but since a key ruling by the European Court of Justice in 2011, it is fully legal to resell second-hand software licenses.
This means that when companies go bankrupt or switch to other software, their existing licenses can legally be resold — as long as they are original and no longer in use.
