How it all started

Licono grew out of a simple conviction: software should be affordable for everyone. Throughout our own work and studies, we kept running into the same problem. Programs like AutoCAD, Photoshop and Office were simply out of reach for most people. Subscriptions piled up, prices ran into the hundreds, and whenever you had a question, there was rarely anyone around to help.

We were convinced it could be done differently. Our mission soon became clear: whether you are a student, a freelancer, a small business owner or a large company, you deserve access to great software at a fair price.

But how exactly?

Since a landmark ruling by the European Court of Justice in 2011, reselling second-hand software licences has been entirely legal. When companies go bankrupt or switch to other software, their original licences often go unused. Those licences can be sold on. We buy up these surplus batches and offer them for a fraction of the original price. Genuine, legal and straight from Microsoft, Autodesk or Adobe.

How we work

We work directly with insolvency administrators of bankrupt businesses and with trusted intermediaries, and we source licences through auctions. After you place your order, you will usually receive your licence by email within two hours, often even sooner. Everything we do is legal, sustainable and cost-effective, with real people on the other end of the line.
