How It Started

Licono was born from a simple idea: software should be affordable for everyone. During our work and studies, we kept running into the problem that programs like AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Office were simply too expensive for many people. Subscriptions piled up, prices ran into hundreds of euros, and if you had a question, there was rarely anyone available to help.

It had to be possible to do things differently. Our mission became clear: whether you are a student, freelancer, small business owner, or large company, you deserve access to good software at a fair price.

But How?

Since a 2011 ruling by the European Court of Justice, it has been legal to resell second-hand software licenses. When companies go bankrupt or switch to other software, their original licenses often go unused. Those can be resold. We buy those surplus licenses and offer them for a fraction of the original price. Genuine, legal, and straight from Microsoft, Autodesk, or Adobe.

How We Work

We partner with bankruptcy trustees and trusted intermediaries, and purchase licenses through auctions. After you place an order, you usually receive your license by email within two hours, often even sooner. Everything we do is legal, sustainable, and cost-effective, with real people on the other end of the line.
